A disorder known as hydrocephalus happens where there is an accumulation of fluid in and around the brain. It is caused by a lack of absorption, a blockage of movement, or an increased production of the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) formed by the ventricles. The brain’s ventricles are fluid-filled cavities. CSF passes across the brain and spinal cord from the ventricles. A buildup of CSF will cause the pressure within the head to raise if there is too much of it. This allows the bones of a child’s skull to grow and detach, giving the child a larger-than-normal look.

CT scan: is a method of imaging that uses a device to produce a three-dimensional image. This medical imaging technique produces lateral, or axial, images (often referred to as slices) of the body using a mixture of X-rays and computer technology.
